MERIH STAINLESS, a top-tier manufacturer of welding consumables located in Istanbul, Turkey, proudly presents its range of high-quality stainless steel electrodes designed for tough industrial applications. One standout product is the AWS Class E317L-16 electrode, specifically developed for welding stainless steels that demand exceptional corrosion resistance, particularly in environments exposed to chlorides and other harsh chemicals. This low-carbon electrode is user-friendly and delivers consistent performance, making it an excellent choice for welding 317 and 317L stainless steels. With rigorous quality controls in place, MERIH STAINLESS guarantees that each electrode provides reliable arc stability, minimal spatter, and easy slag removal, whether for fabrication or maintenance welding tasks.
The AWS Class E317L-16 electrodes are formulated with approximately 18–20% Chromium, 12.5–14.5% Nickel, and 3–4% Molybdenum, while keeping the carbon content to a maximum of 0.04%. The higher molybdenum content enhances resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion compared to standard 316L electrodes, making them ideal for more challenging service conditions. Typical mechanical properties include a tensile strength of ≥560 MPa, yield strength of ≥350 MPa, and elongation of ≥30%. The rutile coating ensures smooth arc performance and ease of use across all welding positions, producing weld metal with low carbon to minimize the risk of intergranular corrosion in corrosive and high-temperature settings.
