SMO 254 Bolts are made from a superaustenitic stainless steel alloy that is composed of 20% chromium, 18% nickel, 4.5% molybdenum, 0.2% nitrogen and slight amounts of copper. The combination of elements given above makes SMO 254 alloy highly resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion in high–chloride environments, while providing good mechanical strength and toughness. Mechanical properties of the SMO 254 bolts include high tensile and yield strength, durability, as well as strength against stress and deformation, making them highly suitable for critical applications.
