Stainless Steel 201 Pipe Fittings are lower nickel-containing austenitic stainless steels with more manganese, providing a compromise between strength, corrosion resistance, and cost. The common chemical composition consists of Chromium (16–18%), Nickel (3.5–5.5%), Manganese (5.5–7.5%), and Carbon up to 0.15%. The fittings offer tensile strength of about 520 MPa, yield strength of 275 MPa, and elongation of around 40%. Though less corrosion-resistant than 304, 201 has excellent formability, good weldability, and is appropriate for mildly corrosive environments and therefore a sensible option for many ordinary applications.
