Our Stainless Steel 347 Bars are made from an austenitic stainless steel alloy that includes 17–19% chromium, 9–13% nickel, and trace amounts of columbium (niobium) and tantalum, which work together to prevent carbide precipitation. This unique composition enhances their resistance to intergranular corrosion, especially in high-temperature applications. On the mechanical side, these bars boast a tensile strength of around 515 MPa and a yield strength of 205 MPa, along with impressive creep and stress-rupture resistance. They maintain their toughness and hardness even after extended exposure to heat, while also offering good weldability and machinability, making them a dependable choice for projects that require both strength and durability.
