410 stainless steel tubing consists of a martensitic stainless steel alloy with about 11.5–13.5% chromium and 0.15–0.40% carbon. Based on this composition, the material can be hardened by heat treatment, producing high strength and average corrosion resistance. After heat treatment, 410 tubing usually has tensile strengths of 700–850 MPa and a Rockwell hardness of up to 50 HRC. It is also complemented by good wear and oxidation resistance at high temperatures, and therefore it is ideal for use in mechanical and structural applications that demand hardness.
