The AWS Class E317LT1-1/T1-4 is a flux-cored wire that contains about 19–21% Chromium, 12.5–14.5% Nickel, and 3–4% Molybdenum, along with a low carbon content (≤0.04%) and added titanium to enhance slag control. The “T1-1” and “T1-4” labels signify its compatibility with CO₂ and mixed shielding gases, respectively. Its mechanical properties boast a tensile strength of at least 570 MPa, yield strength of at least 400 MPa, and an elongation of at least 30%. The combination of molybdenum and low carbon content significantly improves resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, particularly in environments rich in chlorides. The slag system is designed for easy removal, resulting in clean welds that are perfect for both flat and horizontal positions in structural and piping applications.
