410 Stainless Steel Fasteners are produced from a martensitic stainless steel alloy that has about 11.5–13.5% chromium and up to 0.15% carbon. This alloy composition imparts the alloy very good hardness, strength, and resistance to wear, in addition to moderate corrosion resistance. These fasteners have a tendency to provide tensile strength of approximately 700 MPa, yield strength of 450 MPa, and acceptable toughness. 410 stainless steel can also be heat-treated to further intensify its mechanical properties, so it can be used in applications where high strength and hardness are needed.
