316/316L Stainless Steel Channels are molybdenum-containing austenitic stainless steel channels with higher corrosion resistance, particularly in chloride-containing and seawater environments. Their chemical composition is Chromium (16–18%), Nickel (10–14%), Molybdenum (2–3%), and carbon content of ≤0.08% for 316 and ≤0.03% for 316L. Mechanical properties are a minimum tensile strength of 515 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of 40%. The lower carbon level in 316L improves weldability and minimizes the risk of intergranular corrosion following welding, suitable for structural purposes where long-term reliability is required.
