Stainless Steel 409 Stud Bolts consist of a ferritic stainless steel alloy containing 10.5–11.75% chromium, with a low carbon content (up to 0.08%) and small traces of titanium or niobium for stabilization. They have fair corrosion resistance, good oxidation resistance, and excellent weldability. Mechanical properties involve tensile strength of approximately 380–450 MPa, yield strength of about 170–275 MPa, and fair ductility. The alloy has structural integrity in mildly corrosive conditions and at high temperatures, and it is therefore acceptable for light-duty, high-heat services.
