Stainless Steel 420 Stud Bolts are manufactured from a high-carbon martensitic stainless steel alloy that is mainly made of 0.15–0.40% carbon and 12–14% chromium. This alloy enables the material to be hardened by heat treatment and then achieves high strength and moderate corrosion resistance. With maximum hardening and tempering, 420 stud bolts develop tensile strength of about 700–850 MPa and yield strength of about 500–600 MPa, with Rockwell hardness up to 50 HRC. Not as resistant to corrosion as austenitic grades, 420 still provides decent resistance in dry, mildly corrosive environments and is frequently chosen for mechanical strength.

After completion of the manufacturing process, our quality control team performs destructive and non-destructive tests on Stainless Steel 420 Stud bolts using the best equipment and advanced techniques. The tests are conducted at Merih Stainless’ premises to determine the performance and reliability of bolts. The strength, durability, and corrosion resistance of stud bolts are further assessed during testing. Post-testing, these stud bolts will be packed as per the required specifications along with high-quality packaging for safe delivery. After this, the products are delivered based on a predefined time frame to have prompt and on-time service delivery. All the required documentation is presented to the customer upon delivery.
Stainless Steel 420 Stud Bolts find widespread usage in applications that demand strength, wear resistance, and limited corrosion resistance. The use finds expression in automobile, machinery, pump and valve industry, tooling or equipment coming into contact with friction or abrasion. These bolts are particularly well-suited to shafts, gears, and fasteners where surface hardness is critical. They function well in low to moderate moisture or chemical environments but should not be used in marine or highly corrosive exposures. Their machinability in the annealed condition and hardness potential make them a useful contender for mechanical fastening applications.
