Stainless Steel 310/310S Plates and Sheets are high-alloy austenitic stainless steels that are used for applications at high temperatures. They contain Chromium (24–26%) and Nickel (19–22%), which gives them excellent resistance to scaling and oxidation even at temperatures of up to 1100°C. The fundamental difference is carbon content—310 is up to 0.25% whereas 310S is ≤0.08%, which offers better weldability and less carbide precipitation. These alloys have a minimum tensile strength of 520 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of 40%. 310S is particularly well suited for conditions where repeated thermal cycling or welding is present without sacrificing corrosion resistance.
