Stainless Steel 405 Sheet and Plates are part of the ferritic stainless steel family, with around 11.5% chromium and low carbon composition (up to 0.08%). This alloy is not suitable for good corrosion resistance but for good oxidation resistance and moderate corrosion resistance, particularly at high temperatures. It possesses mechanical properties like tensile strength approximately 450 MPa, yield strength approximately 275 MPa, and elongation of approximately 20%. Stainless Steel 405 exhibits excellent scaling resistance and can be used in applications where there is moderate resistance to heat with good formability along with magnetic properties.
